Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs for each request, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure and are not used to identify you.

To show maps, photos and official data, your browser loads some content directly from public sources, including the U.S. Census Bureau, the Office of the Clerk of the House, the Biographical Directory of the U.S. Congress, Senate.gov and Wikipedia. Those services receive the standard information any web request includes, such as your IP address, and are governed by their own privacy policies.

PoliGov links to official election websites and other sources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

Children

PoliGov is a general-audience site and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
